2019 Hilltops Malbec

Our 2019 Malbec is grown on the Moppity vineyard in the Hilltops region of New South Wales. The vineyard was planted in 1973 and is responsible for some of the best wines made in New South Wales, including the Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy winning Eden Road Shiraz I made in 2008. At 500 meters above sea level, the vineyard is  exposed to warm dry days and cool nights, which makes it ideal for growing Malbec.

Originating in Bordeaux, France, Malbec is one of only 6 grape varieties permitted for use in Bordeaux red blends. Celebrated all over the world, Malbec is the most famous of Argentina’s red wines. Our 2019 Malbec is also a perfect illustration of its landscape – singing with big blue fruit and beautiful floral notes, this rich but medium bodied red is perfect while we are still tucked up in the cooler weather enjoying beautiful red meats and heady roasts.
